Inflammation of Fat

Neutrophils are a type of white blood cell. They are typically tasked with attacking bacteria and other foreign invaders.

They are linked to insulin resistance, the molecular event that results in type 2 diabetess.

Neutrophils are the first responders in terms of tissue inflammation.

They promote chronic inflammation by signaling macrophages into action.

When this occurs in adipose tisssue it causes chronic inflammation with a byproduct of insulin resistance.
